Fall 2019 Umpire ClinicsUpdatedFriday September 6, 2019 byDLL Registrar.
We need YOU! Umpires are as important as coaches and players to make Little League a success. As an all-volunteer orgainzation, we depend on our parents to step up and volunteer for various roles to make our seasons a success. Umpires are one of our most important roles we need to fill.
In AA, each team provides 1 umpire every game to make the games safe and fun. Every team should have at least 2 trained umpires to allow for making sure you can cover every game.
This Fall, we strongly recommend each Majors and AAA team also has a trained umpire on their team of parents. DLL endeavors to provide a home plate and base umpires for every game. This Fall Season, we anticipate having difficulty filling these roles for every game due to staffing shortages. Umpires may also not show up, or someone can call in sick. We can't play a game without umpires. If we have a parent in the stands who can throw on some blue and step in in a pinch, the games will go on.
We strongly recommend one or more parents from every team in every division to attend our DLL Training Sessions below.
Basic Rules and Field Clinic: Sunday, September 8, 2019.
AA Clinic: SUNDAY, September 15, 2019
All new umpires for 2019 are required to complete a background check (adults only) and submit a certificate of concussion training. I recommend any new umpires complete these prior to the training session. The certificate of concussion training can be emailed to Teena Price, The links to the Concussion training are available HERE.
For additional umpire questions please contact Teena Price, DLL Umpire in Chief.
