DAVIS LITTLE LEAGUE UMPIRE TRAINING

DLL is proud to announce its Spring 2020 training dates

Farm Umpire Training - Saturday, February 29th; 11am-1pm

  • Please meet at the DLL Umpire room for uniform and equipment orientation
  • This clinic is designed for adult volunteer and youth umpires with little to no experience who want to umpire at the Farm level. Will include rules and how to use the pitching machine for Farm

AA Umpire Training - Saturday, February 29th; 1pm-3pm

  • Please meet at the DLL Umpire room for uniform and equipment orientation
  • This clinic is designed for adult volunteer and youth umpires with little to no experience who want to umpire at the AA level. Will include rules and plate mechanics for AA.

AAA/Majors Beginner Training - Sunday, March 1st. Location TBD; 1pm-4pm

  • This clinic is designed for youth and adult volunteer umpires with little to no experience who will be umpiring at the AAA/Majors and above levels. It is also a good refresher for those umpires with only 1-2 seasons of experience.

Youth Umpires - all interested youths 12 and older who would like to perform in the role of field umpire for Farm, AA, AAA, and Majors games

  • Youth umpires are encouraged to attend any of the trainings above, or any combination of them for the divisions in which they’d like to work.
    • Youth umpires cannot umpire for the division in which they play (i.e. a Majors player cannot umpire a Majors game, but may make themselves available for Farm, AA, or AAA games)
    • Beginner youth umpires may only perform in the role of Field Umpire for any game. Adult volunteers or our Advanced Umpires are the only ones who can perform in the role of Plate Umpire.
    • A list of trained youth umpires will be made available to all managers in all divisions for which that youth has been trained.
    • Youth umpires are paid by the team who requests them in Farm and AA, when a team is unable to provide a volunteer umpire.
    • Managers - please contact the UIC at umpire@davislittleleague.org if you are in need of a youth umpire for your game.

There is no charge for these clinics, but we do require that you sign up so we can plan for how many youths and adults to expect. Please sign up HERE.

  • DLL is also offering a certification for completing the Advanced District Umpire Clinic which will include:
